1.6b Safe to install
PhonoPaper is a camera application designed for the playback of images that contain encoded sound, known as PhonoPaper-codes. Besides its playback feature, users can also create their own codes with this versatile app. It allows for up to 10 seconds of sound recording through the microphone, which can then be converted into an image.
Key features:
- PhonoPaper operates independently from network access for decoding purposes.
- The analog nature of PhonoPaper codes makes them less sensitive to various types of image distortion such as poor camera quality, low light conditions, or wrinkled paper. Even under adverse conditions, users will still be able to hear the essence of the original sound.
- Real-time code playback with adjustable speed and direction using hand gestures.
- Possibility to draw codes manually to generate unique sounds.
Examples of usage:
- Voice messages or musical snippets embedded in t-shirts, billboards, posters, postcards, and merchandise.
- Audio labels for vinyl records.
- Inclusion of auditory examples within books.
- Incorporation of secret messages into visuals.
- Use in art experiments for creative purposes.
How to use:
Open the application, aim the camera at the code (tap on the screen to focus if needed), and smoothly scan the image from left to right. Ensure that the code is aligned parallel to the frame and try to maintain a level camera position. The entire black code markers (top and bottom) should be visible within the frame. Upon successful recognition of the code markers by the app, a sound will play. If there are difficulties in playing the code smoothly, activating automatic scanning by pressing the record button on the right side of the screen can help streamline the process.
